So this gives you an idea of what some of the houses are like in the Philippines. Obviously you get much smaller ones with no gardens and you get much bigger ones that look like mansions. This one obviously has a garden, which not all the middle income homes will have. There often seems to be wood panelling in the houses here and the garage is more often than not, underneath the main bedroom usually. Or at least the garage/parking bay would be underneath the second floor of the house.

Below are a few pics of some quirky/interesting things I've seen recently. I couldn't help giggling at the sign in the taxi... :-)

On our drive down to Anilao, we passed through some very picturesque villages, notwithstanding that we took the scenic route many times! This village was preparing for a festival of some kind. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly what the festival was about.
I wasn't sure whether to feel safe or not at the shopping centre we stopped at to get a car charger during the drive down to the coast. In the parking lot, we found this truck parked up nearby where we had parked.
We finally got to the coast and stopped at a place called Eagle Point Resort. We had to park in the parking lot and then the shuttle took us on a seriously hectic drive down to the entrance to the resort. The road was so steep and curvy that I just couldn't look out the window. Seriously crazy! Below is the view from the restaurant. Obviously the weather was bad, but a helipad right on the ocean like that seemed pretty interesting.

During that same drive we took this picture of traditional fishing vessels going right past a much bigger metal ship. It just seemed so odd to see both kinds of boats in the same place?!?
