Dive weekend Philippines no. 1

So this is a quick blog about our qualifying dive trip. Can't believe it's taken this long to blog about it!!!!
Anyway, it was great fun trying to get kit like fins and masks. Thanks to our dive instructor and the very helpful folk at Scuba World in Makati for all the help and advice!

This is the dive manual. It was like being back in school...lol.

This is the view from the resort we stayed at: Bambu Villa Resort. It was a good place to stay and had incredible views. Unfortunately tanks were not unlimited, but the service was good and the equipment wasn't bad either. Some places down here really don't have good equipment.

The guys who carried all our gear onto the boat were great. Getting on and off the boat with my tank would have been an interesting experience. This is the typical kind of boat you'll find in Anilao.

More view from the resort. This is one of my favourite pics.

Dinner Time! Every meal had about 4 courses. The interesting thing was experiencing a Philipino breakfast for the first time. There was rice at breakfast.

The area we went diving in was like being in a post card. It was beautiful! Everywhere you look you see another island.

This is Karin and me. We couldn't have asked for a better or more professional dive instructor!

This was all the kit we had to take with us. Extra tanks were somewhere in that lot of gear too.

More amazing pics near Dive and Trek.

Below is Dive and Trek, the second resort we stayed at in Anilao. The service at Dive & Trek is wonderful. The staff are so friendly which makes up for what some would consider simple accommodation. Also, tanks are unlimited each day, which makes for excellent diving! When we were there for Brad's birthday, they went to endless lengths to get a really wonderful cake for us. They had to go to a completely different town to get one. Thanks to Cora and Alex for all their effort and to Myrna for all her help with so many things over the weekend. Nothing was too much effort!

This is the area where you prepare your dive kit at Bambu. Very cool.
