Well, as per the day 4 post, the time in San Fran came to an end, and we headed to the airport for a trip to NYC. We opted for the airport shuttle, as it was most convenient (walking a couple of blocks to the train with all of our bags just did not seem like a very good idea).
The airport staff here have proven me correct once again. They are rude, unhelpful, incapable of smiling and did I mention unfriendly. Anyhow, after some baggage issues (my 1 bag was 7pounds too heavy, and my second bag was 25pounds under the limit, so In had to balance the weight out. Unfortunately, my 2nd bag is small, so I launched some stuff into Werner's bag) and a slight delay, we were in the sky. This was supposed to be our sleeping time, as we planned our flights overnight to save accommodation. Needless to say, I slept. We had a 1 hour stop in Denver and then continued to NYC.
Our hostel is really cool. We are in a new room in the hostel, which is really nice. The rooms are clean, as well as the bathrooms. Unfortunately, breakfast is not included, which is a bummer, but seems to be common in the New York Hostels.
Anyhow, we did a chilled day, figuring out the subways (I am still trying to remember where North is), finding some food places, checking out some random sights. We eventually split, with Werner cruising to the statue of lib while I found the Apple Store (way cool).
I also lurked around a bit at the financial centre, where I saw a Deloitte sign, but think you needed to pass security to get to the offices, so I didn't go and check them.
Anyhow, the day was chilled. Lots of walking was done. Tonight's plan is to just hang out a bit, go to Broadway etc. Below, some pic's from ground zero and the financial centre (center in Americaneese).
